A week of FIRSTS!!!

This last week was a week of *FIRSTS in a few different ways.

Here they are....

Aaron started up his summer season of hockey!! He LOVES the game and the exercise. The games are FINALLY early enough that we can go and support him with it. YAY!!! He really is getting good at it too.

WAY TO GO AARON!!

He is the dude on the LEFT side of the picture. *FIRST game and *FIRST time having us there in along time!!

Here he is again~
Some family and friends came to cheer him on. Even though it is summer feeling outside (sorta)...we still all have to dress warm and wintery. Brrrrrr.

After the game. Daddy got warm hugs by Tate.....

and Davin!!! They both LOVE LOVE LOVE going to daddy's games. ~Great bribery now!!~
This next *FIRST is kinda NUTS and funny at the same time. Our neighbor LOVES to WAX anything and everything!! She talked Aaron into getting his back swimming worthy. HAA HAA! (He might just kill me for posting this.....but it is just too funny.) He really doesn't have that much back hair, but enough that he likes to clean it up before hitting the pool. What a guy!!

Believe it not, I have NEVER touched my eyebrows with anything. Never plucked and never waxed! Gross huh!? I am sure they probably needed it...but I just never did it. So she talked me into a brow wax. It was quite the *FIRST experience!

Getting ready for the pain.....

Onto the next First...

*FIRST time to LAGOON for the season. And even more so *FIRST time binging a kid!!!

Our fab neighbors had three extra tickets and asked us if we wanted to join. Of course we said YES! We LOVE Lagoon!!!

Aaron and I usually go yearly with his work party. We always have the option of bringing the kids, but we choose to get a sitter and make it a date for the two of us. (This way we can jump on rides and be worry free having a total blast together.) We always feel guilty to a point for not bringing them..but see the hassle the other families experience.

Well this year was a *FIRST and we thought we would be good parents and bring one of the kids. Tate was the lucky dude! We experienced quite the time.

He was a bit excited, even in the parking lot!
He rode lots of great rides with one of his dearest friends....SO CUTE!!!

......BUT waiting in lines were not his cup of tea. SSSShhhessh, this kids needs to learn patience!!

It was a *FIRST for Aaron and I to ride the kiddy rides. They are fun too, believe it or not!!

LOVED seeing all the sweet animals! They really do have a lot! We were in AWW!
Fun times all around!
We did have some breaks from the kids and had some adult laughs!! Much needed.

But it was tender to see Tate in heaven!! He was super cute!
He was care free and got soaked!!
Rode lots and lots of great rides!
He was even SUPER daring to go on FAST ones. If he was only taller...he would have gone on anything and everything.
Raddle snake rapids was not nice to us! Our back sides were soaked! Aaron was from head to toe. HAA HAA! Tate didn't understand getting his clothes wet...but still enjoyed it.

This ride was not near as wet...hee hee.

Just chillin'
Then it was time to pack up and call it a day. It was great to bring along Tate, but we all decided that next time...kids stay home. (Until they are at least 5 or 6 years old.) By then, he will be tall enough, understand that we have to WAIT in line..and wont throw fits about silly stuff. Over all...it was a perfect weather day and a complete BLAST!!

It really is "what FUN is!!!

We also got invited to our *FIRST BBQ up the canyon! Due to all the flooding, it was a *FIRST that we have been surrounded by water to eat a tin foil! NUTS!!!

We enjoyed great company. Great food and....
......GREAT s'mores!! BIG ones too!!! YUM!!
The kids LOVED feeding the ducks....throwing rocks into the river...and just getting SUPER DUPER dirty like a normal little kid.

Super cute kids.......messy and HAPPY!

Until next week.....

Sisters weekend take 2!!! (+mom)

Remember a few months ago my sisters and I planned a sisters weekend? Well we did it AGAIN!! My parents go to AZ for the winter so mom wasn't able to come last time. She now is back home and wanted to reenact the weekend with her. Haa haa. My mom is funny! She just knows that my sister is having a baby here in a few months and wont be able to do this again for quite some time. Smart thinkin' mom!

So this is how this weekend went down:

Mom and I took off from Logan around 4 o'clock. We headed down south and picked up the two older but most beautiful sisters. We were starving, so we hit the famous BRICK OVEN restaurant! It was super yummy and filled our belly's right up. We then were ready for some good times ahead.

Oldest (10 years older) sister Cindi.
Cindi, Cristi, and Mom after our fab meal! YUM!!

We then drove to the good ol SLC! We checked into our place: Crystal Inn. This was an older and not as retro as our Hyatt from last time...but it was still super nice.

That night we went swimming in the pool. It felt so nice to relax, kick back and just chat with my sisters and mommy. Oh how I love them so.

We chatted til late and rested our little tired eyes. It was the best sleep I had had in awhile. Awww...very nice!

The next morning we ate a HUGE warm breakfast. (It was the best Continental breakfast I have ever had. It had all the works. We were SUPER impressed!!) We then got cleaned up for the day and had to do our traditional pedicures to each other. Mom has a broken toe at the moment, but we still beautified her black nasty toe....to bright RED!! ;)

Check out time! Goodbye Crystal Inn!!!

We then hit Grandpa Vandersteen's place in downtown SLC! He was excited to see all of us all together all at the same time. His health is really fading but he still took us for a tour of his....
Chicken coup!! (He always calls himself the best chicken farmer in all of mill creek! We all just go along with it! :))
These are his babies that he takes care of day and night.
We couldn't stay long, but he made sure we all went home with at least a dozen BROWN eggs each!
His fridge is always FULL of eggs. Always has been and I am sure always will be. We love grandpa Vandersteen ("Chicken-steen" as we call him.)
We then headed up little cotton wood canyon to my aunts house for a baby shower. My cousin that is about the same age as me is having her 1st babe!! She lives up in Seattle and we don't see her often. :( This was fun to see my sweet cousin that I was very close with growing up. It was a great turn out of family and her friends. We loved eating yummy food (once again) and visiting with lots of great people.

Measuring her darling belly! I lost.

Sweet Sara having her first baby. A girl!! Love her.

It was time to continue our sisters weekend and head out again to the open city! We hit the gateway for some shopping and entertainment. The day was PERFECT!!!! So warm and beautiful!! We shopped and relaxed until our IMAX show was about to start. We hit pirates!! It was a good movie, we all enjoyed it.

It then was time to say goodbye to all.....until next time! Always enjoyable and super nice to be with family...especially my sweet sisters and mom.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I got home and the weekend and the weather was still continuing to be NICE. A miracle I tell ya. Gotta love it baby!! Summer evenings it is always a tradition to enjoy our evening bike rides as a family along with some of our neighbors. We love these types of summer traditions!!

All my boys, getting ready to head out!
The trailer hubby's!
Hitting the park is always a must also. Tate loves the slides!
Same with Davin also!
Of course the boys LOVE the swings!!
Even the oldest boy!
He likes to do funny tricks........
to make us ALL laugh....
Boy, does he have talent!! HAA HAA!!

Gotta love this boy!!! He is a child at heart and that is why we all love him so.
(Don't worry, his bum was just fine! ;) Just his head was about to get smacked! AHHH)

Is it July yet?? NO!?!??! Oh well....why not pull out some sparklers!?

We always seem to pull them out on random nights with neighbors. The kids love em. We love them. Why not!!??
