More summer- holiday fun!

This weekend was an action packed one. We love hang'n with the fam and friends.

Aaron and I met up with Mindi and Kiana the other night to walk around the car show. We wanted to hear the band "STYX" from inside. As we were walking in, a neighbor stopped us and asked if we wanted some tickets to the concert. Heck ya!! We would never turn down $30 dollar tickets for free! We love butt rock and were sooo excited. As I was walking into the concert, I had some pretty strange looks bringing in a baby. Someone even said to me "starting him early huh." I would never have brought him if I had only known a little bit earlier. We really enjoyed the music until Tate pooped. I left to go change him and never dared go back in. I was totally bummed but the music was really loud and I really didn't want to damaged Tate's hearing for life. We left early and as we walked away we sang to the songs. We hurried and drove to N. Logan to a fireworks show there. I love Fireworks!!!

One day we hung out at 1st dam and the kids jumped off the bridges and we took turns floating down the canal. Mom, Bret and I all went together on one run. We laughed all the way down. From the beginning I fell off my tube and gashed my leg... oh and about froze. The water was soooo freezing....but it numbed my gash and so it felt much better. Hopefully it wont get infected.

We had a family talent show, Cindi danced, and the kids played the piano/ instruments. Then we had a big surprise party for Bret who turned 40 this year....ahhhh talk about over the hill. I have been memorizing silly songs to lip sinc to him. It was very funny...too bad I don't have pictures of this.

The car show...love it! We use to live on center street in Logan and would throw huge parties before the parade would start. Now that we don't live there we can't do that so much...but we still go sit in front of our old house and watch the cars zoom by. We enjoy laughing with our family and friends that share this tradition with us also. These are a few of the many great things that we did this great Fourth weekend. No wonder I love this holiday so much. I just love Logan and all that it has to offer. I am so glad that I live here. It is so beautiful!! I love that the fireworks are on the 3rd so then you can do more activities and make a long weekend out of it. The car show is crowed but who cares, it's only one day. I live for crowds.....I love noise...it sounds crazy but it is true. Poor Tate though he is worn out, but he really did great and I know he had a great time also. The Cache Valley Cruise In! Family and Friends! Tate trying to eat grass. Older than Dirt..suprise party. (he's acting old) Talent show in grandma's backyard. 1st dam picnic and tubeing.

I love this time of year!

The 4th of July is my most favoirte holiday ever!!! It may seem strange but I just love the warm weather, family, friends, and good food. I just love it, love it, love it.

Aaron and I went on our 3rd date, 8 years ago to the cemetary hill to watch the Logan fireworks. Every year since then, we have gone to the same spot and enjoyed the great memories. We have a tradition to make crepes. We eat them on the hill... but we had to postpone them this year because they take forever to make. Aaron is the pro crepe maker and because of his foot, we decided to for-go it this year.

We love all the family and friends that share our tradition with us. HAPPY 4th!!! We are so grateful for our country and our freedom.

Our great friends Chris and Angie came over the other night for a BBQ and we put the kids in the pool. They looked so cute togther.

Some of Aaron's cousins came to town and we went up the canyon to enjoy their company. We love the canyons....just minutes away. Nature is so beautiful...just one reason why we LOVE logan.

Neighborhood BBQ!

We had a great neighborhood BBQ last night! The ward missionaries have been around inviting us to be better neighbors. We are a HUGE ward....and a lot of people are new and haven't been met. We usaually have a neighborhood BBQ in the summer, so this year we thought that we would get the ball rolling and get it in before all the holiday stuff starts. We had a pretty good turn out, not as many as we would have liked...but it was great to see and visit some of the great neighbors and friends that we live by. Enjoy the pictures! (Some people had left already, so sorry if you are not in the slide show - LANDON AND JANELL!!!)

Good News Update!

Aaron doesn't need surgery! YEAH!! Thank you for all that prayed for us...it worked! The doc called today and said that he had 3 doc's come in and analize the CATscans and X-rays. They all thought that it would HEAL nicely, with just a cast. (oh that was a pun...beacause it was his HEEL that is broken in three places... haa haa, I made a joke.) ANYWAYS....so he needs to keep off of it and keep it elevated till monday and then they will put the cast on it. The doc thinks he may only be in a cast for a couple to three weeks. If this is so...it will be a miracle! I really hope that it is. He really need to have some summer, he works so hard.

So I will keep updating on the details, but for now we are very happy!

(I really should post the pictures of his foot today. It is the biggest foot I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of broken and sprained feet in my days working at a doctor's office.)

Summer time BLUES!!!

So Yesturday I started thinking that it would be fun to do a post on Aaron's new hobby. Paragliding!!! Aaron has gone a handful of times and just LOVES it. I wanted to do a positive post about paragliding....but today I feel otherwise. I was just a little scared because of the risks that could happen. A month or so ago, he sprained his ankle really badly. I was the wife that told him that..."ohh I am glad that you have a hobby but this is very risky with starting a new buisness."

Well this morning he and his buddy's got up early for a morning flight. Next thing I knew I got a call from my husband stating that his flight was beautiful.... but the landing not so much. Just looking at it I knew it was broken. We ran around all day from doctor to doctor to doctor. He had X-rays, Cat scans and now we just wait.....wait for the news if surgery is needed or if a cast is all we need. I hope and pray that surgery is not needed. We have terrible insurance!!

Aaron is really bummed. He loves summer just as much as I do. He was planning a trip to Lake Powell in a couple of weeks with loads of water skiing and wakeboarding with his buddies. He is in charge of the Stake Priest Retreat this upcoming weekend full of water activities and the works. I feel bad that he has to miss out on all the water things, he looks forward to all year but.... I know Aaron he will figure something out. He always does!

AARON'S NEW BEST FRIENDS!!

THESE ARE PRIOR FLIGHT PICS.

THE PICTURES DONT SHOW HOW BAD IT REALLY LOOKS.

Splish Splash-Foggy Time!

We decided it would be a great idea to get Tate a little swimming pool, when we noticed Tate hated to get out of the tub. I bought this awesome frog pool a month or so ago and couldn't wait to have him swim. I thought this would be perfect on our new grass when we get it. But as you can see in the back ground...no grass yet. I can't complain, Aaron has been helping our nabors with a lot of their landscaping stuff and so he will be blessed greatly. We gave in and put a blanket on the cement patio and Tate didn't even mind. He really enjoyed his first swim, this might have to be an everyday occation.
