Play HARD!!

We just got back from a week of PLAYING HARD in Lake Powell! Our great friends invited us to play with them. So we did!

It went a little something like this:

The boys left the day before to Lake Powell to get things ready on the house boat. (Which we never ended up taking out. They decided to just leave it in the slip for the week, due to the storm. We were just fine with that!) So it was just us girls (Charee & Cheri) to fend for ourselves on the way down. (All kids were left behind at baby sitters.) Us girls took an extra hour or so making some silly stops along the way for pictures. All I can say is...it was one DANG FUN 8 hour drive!! Lots of singing on the top of our lungs too! Hee Hee

We had some snow along the way. First snow of the season...SO we thought it would only be appropriate to stop and make a snow ball to throw at each other.

I have wanted to take a picture in this HUGE rocking chair for YEARS now. Every time we drive through BEAVER we always have some sort of issue why we can't stop, or we don't have the camera. (or whatever the case may be) CHERI and CHAREE this trip made it happen!!

Us in the LARGE rocking chair!!
My dream CAME TRUE!!! Here is the proof!! What a grand experience!!
Check out these SWEET sun glasses that I even purchased here at this gas station. RED cute ones, and they were even CHEAP! Gotta love that.

We finally found our sign in the desert! The glorious WAHWEAP sign that is.
Rounded the resort corner...
And there it was, the home away from home. THE HOUSE BOAT VILLAGE!!
Just a lovely walk down the ramps and there she was!
The PLAY HARD house boat! Oh how I have missed her since last year. What a beauty!
The BEST house boat name ever! We had some great chuckles at some of the neighboring house boat names. ie: "The office","Wake pal", "Almost paradise", "Dances with Waves", Sotally Tober" and soo many more! Play hard by far just RULES!
I even gave her a huge HUG!

Since it was getting later, we ate and some folks played games.

Nice shirt RY! Just chillin' in the boat!
While the others played games and hung out Talisha and I went to WALMART in PAGE AZ! We were the only white people there. (Indians are the majority.) I got me a BELL for my collection and we rented a RED BOX and got some other random things to start out our trip.
This is the view of our little city at night!
The next morning the SKIES were BEAUTIFUL! No storm in view, but it was a bit chilly for Powell. We decided to take a boat ride!
Some were on wave runners!
And the rest on the boat!
Here we go!
This particular day was a bit chilly in the early morning! We look super Dorky don't we?! HA!
Never try and read a magazine while on a boat. It is a bit hard, but funny!
The views are always AMAZINGLY beautiful. We just can never take it all in. AWWW!

Driving up the COVE...
is SPECTACULAR!!
Aaron was having fun!
We docked our boats...to hike up to the FABULOUS "Rainbow Bridge"!! We had never been there before, and it was really NEAT!
(On the way up, we saw some hieroglyphics!! Can you see it? No! Not the dinosaur biting his head. Look closer!!)
Here is a closer look!
Yep, there it is!
BUT more importantly...here is Rainbow Bridge! (It was kinda heavy! ;))
SO HUGE!
SO BIG!

So amazing HUGE and BIG! Just spectacular!

From underneath!
From the other side!

Don't fall on me!

Here is "CHUCK" our newest friend! He was the dude that knew all! He was full of information and pretty much a RIOT!
He told us all about the founding of the Bridge and these monuments made for the founders. Pretty interesting really!
Another day we Loaded the boats for some good ol Wake boarding, skiing...and whatever else we wanted to do!

Cheri is ready to go!
All us girls are!

Aaron was more so!

Aaron was ready to "HIT IT" on some hard core wake boarding. They said it was like BUTTER the water was so smooth. Best water EVER!
Jumping the wakes!
Showing off a bit!
He then was worn out! Great job BUDDY!
He then decided he hadn't skied on one ski for a bit, so he did a bit of that too!
Then he cuddled up with me to watch others and check out the scenery.

Ry Ry then showed us some SKILL!

Dang he gets some air!
Cheri showed us her skill as well.
It then was time for CHAREE to show off her skill! Chillin' and enjoyed the surroundings! HA!
It then was time to go as couples on the WAVE RUNNERS! Our wet suits were a must in October on wave runners. The water is warmer than the air! Still fun though.
We drove around saw some sweet looking YACHTS! How would it be to have that much money?
We then went to the DUNE of Lake Powell! This is a HUGE STEEP hill with the softest sand in the world!
We hiked up it!
It was kinda hard!
We DID it! (twice)
What a view!! We then RAN down it! The boys face planted in the water below. It was hilarious! Wish I had pictures of that :(
We then played around in the water like you do in POWELL!
Momma Robinson always fed us AMAZINGLY! She is always so kind, sweet and generous! We will be sufficient for years now. We all were eating in the house boat when we notice the fabulous SUNSET outside! We ran up top to take in it's beauty!
So pretty!! Can it get any better than this?
Dang! Look at those colors!!!
We watched some movies and then went to our "cubby" down below for our nights sleep!

The next morning it was time to "GAL PAL" it! C & C rode together on a wave runner! We chatted and laughed as we rode! We went to the Lake Powell DAM! From the picture it looks small, but it really is HUGE! It has to be, the water is hundreds of feet deep! (Kinda freaks me out to think about that deep!)

Ry was waiting for the "tour boat" to come by. They leave huge wakes to jump on these wave runners. Pretty fun, but super scary for girls! Yeah, yeah...I am a woosie!
My highlight of Lake Powell is always to SLIDE down the house boat slide! Don't ask me why, but I just LOVE it! Here I go...
Plugging my nose...
Splash!
Ahhhhh
Aaron always has to out do me, and go down face first!
Haa Haa Haa!! What a nut!
Then the dreaded drive back home! Always fun to come home to the boys we missed, but sad to leave the good ol Lake! We have so much fun there with lots to do and a fab time with great people. When we get the opportunity to go, we TAKE IT! Who wouldn't want to PLAY HARD!!??

You have to entertain yourselves somehow in the car! Pringles DUCK lips are the thing! ;)

NICE!

Until Next time....Remember to:

I'm glad you had so much fun in powell, even if the houseboat never left the dock, it still looks like a great time
