HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZIPPER SNIPPER!

This post is dedicated to our dear dog, ZIP AKA: Zippity do dog, ZIPPER, Houndinee, and Zipper Snipper! No he did not die, I just wanted to do a post on him. (I got him around this time...9 years ago.) He is such a good dog and we love him ohh so much. I feel bad for the pup these days he has been replaced by our children. As many of you know, zip was a gift to me from Aaron when we were dating. I always had wanted a puppy, and my parents didn't want the mess and craziness of an animal. After Aaron gave him to me, we got married like 10+ months later. We couldn't ever get an apartment due to him...so we rented some houses so we could have him. We didn't have kids the first 6 years of our marriage and so Zip was our baby. He was such a spoiled pup. We took him everywhere and he had lots of grass to run around on.(we had some large yards) We took him hiking, camping and all of those fun things. BUT NOW...the story is much different. We moved into our home, didn't have a yard at first...and we have been wanting a fence REALLY bad..(they aren't cheap as you know)..so he is stuck in his kennel most of the time. (I hate that!!) Aaron takes him out to run around the yard from time to time (when he actually has a second)...and drive in the back in his work truck. He gets to go swimming (which is his favorite)from time to time in the canal. He is defiantly not an indoor animal..he never has been taught. Part of me feels guilty that we have replaced him with kids, but really kids should take presidence right? ANYWAYS, out of a bit of guilt, I just wanted to do a post just for him AND wish him HAPPY BIRTHDAY! He really was the cutest darn puppy...but what puppy isn't??

TO ZIP: You have been in out lives for almost 9 years (? dog years). You always have been so sweet to us and the kids. You love to run, swim, jump...and mainly wrestle with Aaron. You love to scratch your back on the grass, or roll around on the snow. You eat snow...sometime the yellow kind. You love to jump around in the canals or gutter..or wherever there is water. You drink so much of it when you swim..that you get bloated and throw up. We laugh at you when you do this...but you still drink more. You rarely bark, and when you do..it is just because of another animal you want to go and see or is peeing on you. OR IF Someone is on your turf, or near your food...or sometimes you are protecting us from strangers.(we have had prowlers in the past.) You are starting to look old, but we love you all the same. YOU ARE SUCH A CUTE DOG. We have thoroughly enjoyed these years with you..and hope for many more. A fence is in the works, so hopefully you will get more exercise. **he loves to run along side Aaron when he rides his bike (on a leash) and/or pull Aaron around on a skate board. ZIP (is a mutt..which I think are the best kind.) So who knows what you are..BUT all we know....is that you are one HOT DOG!! LOVE YOU ZIP!!

BIRTH****DAY***!!!

A couple weeks ago I had a Birthday...and I turned 22!! whooowhoo!!! I had a great day thanks to many of you. (Birthday's just aren't the same as they use to be....but they are still fun.)FOOD IS THE WAY TO HAPPINESS....RIGHT? Well to me, it is. The day before, my wonderful work mates brought me to lunch at "Fredrico's pizzeria". Then on my Birthday Brittnee Neal came up from Ogden. We went to lunch together to celebrate each others Birthdays which are a few days apart at "Firehouse Pizzeria". Later that night, Aaron and the kids took me to dinner at "Chili's". The next day our next door neighbors the Wiley's all went to "Casper's" ice cream to celebrate. AND last but not least a few days after that our friends the Holten's and us went to celebrate Angie and my birthdays together at "Smokin Blues". NOW, if that doesnt's just wet your pallet...I don't know what would. I LOVE LOVE LOVE FOOD....and now you know why I am on a diet!!!

I really enjoyed all of the fun wishes on facebook (over 100 wishes on my wall and messages.) I was soo excited for all of the love. I also got loads of great texts, phone calls and visits. Ohh and even a couple cards. It was such a great day. I just want to thank all of you for being so sweet. These things are much more fun for me than presents. (not that presents aren't fun also.)

Of course I forgot the camera for most of the celebrating, but I did on the actual day. Brittnee and I (and kids) at Firehouse, and my little family at chili's that night.

**Here is my dearest friend Brittnee. I miss her ohh so much now that she moved away. MOVE BACK GIRL!!!
This is the most darling (but tiny) pazookie I got to eat. The little "Happy Birthday" is chocolate...so cute huh?? But no worries, we gulped it down.
Me being a dork for the camera, and the kids all eating creamies.
Davin at "Chili's"...he is sooo small for a booster seat, I had to take a picture. He loved trying to throw everything on the floor. YAY

Tate enjoying a lovely sandwich at "Chili's." (sorry he is being goofy for the camera. Nothing new for our little family.

Until next year!

I DID IT AGAIN!

Bear Lake Fun!

A couple weekends ago, our friends invited us to come up to a cabin in Bear Lake. We were excited to get out of this crummy air for a bit and just relax and rejuvenate. It worked. This cabin was AMAZING! It is huge, fully decorated to the hilt, and has fun wooden bears all over the place. The kids loved getting their pictures by a few of them. We watched some moves, I crafted, we ate a TON, and played out in the snow. There was 4 Rhino's to drive around on..and we picked a steep road to sled down. MAN was it a BLAST! I must say, I am a horrible sled driver. Oh well, I just made Aaron take the kids on the sleds and I went alone..(didn't want to hurt my kids..) I loved driving the Rhino's around also. Davin enjoyed the sledding just as much as Tate and the other kids. I tell you, if we could enjoy the snow this much all year round, I wouldn't mind winter all that much. BUT for the most part SUMMER ROCKS!)

(getting a bit mushy with this HOT bear!)

Notice Davin's BOOTS...sweet A??

The only negative was..I was sooo excited to get in the HOT TUB, but right before we got there, the pipes froze and the whole thing kicked the bucket. SHOOT. I was really looking forward to getting this WHITE..haven't seen sun bod, in a swim suit sooo bad. Oh well, the jacuzzi did the deed! Until next time.

BIG BOY!

You really don't realize how big they are..until you put them back in the baby car seat a few years later. ***reason for the strange picture- I was running up to get his clothes from his room, and thought that was the warmest place to put him. (HEY, it get way cold in our house in the mornings.)

Aaron's new hobby!

As you know, my husband Aaron loves new and exciting things. He is an adventuresome person. He loves to do anything...from snowboarding, wake boarding, softball, racket ball all the way to Paragliding (which you all know how that turned out to be a year and a half ago.) *FYI-His heel has healed nicely!* Anyways, he came home a few weeks ago and said that he was wanting to sign up for a hockey class to practice, because next winter..he was going to be on a Hockey league. I of course at first, thought..you have got to be kidding. THEY FIGHT! I am not a fan of violent behavior..AT ALL! I thought, "well what can it hurt??" literally "what can it hurt???..broken leg? arm? heel? face?...just kidding. So he has been going for an hour the last few saturday's and has really enjoyed it. There are a bunch of grown men, and younger boys. I really have been enjoying watching him on the ice. He is pretty good. Tate also enjoys watching and running around the stadium seating. (kids love the darndest things..and it doesn't take much to amuse us these days.

Aaron is the one in red..with no pads and no shorts..just his sweat pants. We had to chuckle because he was late, and everything was taken. OH WELL..he had fun!

I love old men!

Today I had a great experience that really affected me for good. I was out of a few items of food, and thought that I would go and get them by myself and the boys (my hubby usually comes with me grocery shopping now since I have had the 2nd child.) If you have multiple kids, you realize how challenging it came be to juggle everything. My challenge is: Tate can be good at walking along side of the grocery cart for a short time, BUT gets bored quickly and wants to start touching everything, running ahead of me...(but of course, he is a 2 year old)...and just getting lost at times. Davin on the other hand does better in his car seat. (This works better for me, so I can put Tate in the cart seat, and Davin sits in his seat. (BUT my problem is, I don't have enough room to put groceries. SOOO.............now my story can now begin. I went to Macey's to grab a few things(I LOVE THIS STORE by the way.) Tate wanted to be in the HUGE car cart (which is hard to maneuver)..and so I sat him in the steering wheel seats, Davin of course had to be in his car seat...so he had to sit in the basket part....NOW for the shopping...and no where for anything to go. Well as you know, you can't go to the grocery store without seeing more things that you need. Poor Davin had things on his lap (in his car seat) and Tate had things down by his feet. So the moral of the story goes, I went to check out and had to Take Davins car seat out of the basket, so they could put my grocery bags in the cart part. Now, you know how they ask you if you would like help out to your car? I always say NO, no matter what the case may be. BUT this time, with the VERY hard to maneuver cart, a 20 pound kid in a 10 pound or more car seat..with $100.00 worth of grocery's I thought that I would say yes this time. WELL, of course when I was done paying...The kid had a POO face..and I could tell he did NOT want to help me out...so I was NOT going to ask him. I hefted the car seat on one arm, tried to push the freakin car cart with the other. (stopped to return a red box) and saw about 3-4 more workers look at me...with POO faces..and nope, not a sole offered to help. NOW, DON'T THINK THAT THIS IS A POOR PICKED ON STORY..IT GETS BETTER...(trust me, with 2 kids 18 months apart...I get a lot of stares, and people coming up to me saying "bless your heart"..but I am use to it...I love these boys, and wouldn't trade them for NOTHIN.. Plus it could be worse.) ANYWAYS, I rounded the corner to go outside, and WHAT DO YOU KNOW...it is pooring CATS and DOGS. I thought, you have gotta be kidding. I stopped to pull Tate's hood up, and try and cover poor Davin..with the itty bitty blanket that I had brought. I started the juggle and in walks a man...must have been in his mid to late 80's. WHAT DOES HE DO? He offers to help me out to my car, I say...NO, I am fine sir...THANK YOU..but I will be fine..and MY car is not that far away. WELL, he wasn't going to take that as an answer...and says I must help you. Of course, we start walking out in the rain...at his speed..which I was quite impressed with. We got to my car (which I was caught in a lie..it was way out in boony land)..we get to my car..I thank him and tell him that I can handle it from here. NOPE, he would not have it...he said "please get your kids in car, they are getting soaked. He also was worried about my purse getting wet..and so I got the kids buckled in (and my cheap purse into the car)..as he insisted in unloading all of my groceries. I thanked the sweet old man, and told him I would take the cart back to the holder...NOPE...he had to bring it back into the store. NOW..if that story just doesn't bring a tear to your eye, I don't know what would... ;) What a sweet old man. He did not need to do that in any means..but he DID. He made my day! He made my week and even my month!! He made me wanna be a better person, and do good. He is what I call Christ like. He is what we need more of in this world. Was it a pain for him?? I am not sure. Was he soaked?? For sure.....What a sweet old man from providence...I will be FOREVER grateful.

Now make sure you check out the last 6 posts, I spent an eternity uploading them the other day... THANKS!

Catch Up Time!

I spent some time this morning and did 6 posts. Please check them all out...other wise my hard work is for nothing. (keep checking in also, I have lots more to do...!)

Girl time!

I was thinking the other day that I really haven't seen the gals that grew up from me just down the road...for years! I thought it would be fun to have a little get together with some of them that are still here in town. I invited 5 gals and their kids, but only 3 could come. Maybe you remember them...Michele Weston (my bff for life), Crystal Crookston, and Heidi Berentzen. Becky Essig and Julie Rose were not able to come. We had such a great time..eating a yummy brunch, chatting, and letting our kids play. Michele is having her 5 kid in a couple months, Heidi has 2, Crystal has 2, Becky has 4, and Julie has 2. LOTS of kids. We are planning on doing a get together more often in the summer..when we can be outside and let ALL of the kids run. Miriam, Anne, Jolene, and Stacee, we missed you!! It's crazy to think all us NORTH LOGAN gals, have gotten married and had kids. WOW we have grown up. sheesh

House guests!

A couple weeks ago my brother and his oldest daughter came to town from Oregan to look at university's. I hope she picks USU...but we will see!! (Alysse if you are reading this....Utah State hey Aggies all the way!!!) Anyways, they stayed at our house for a few nights. We had sooo much fun visiting, eating, watching the opening of the winter Olympics.(Tate LOVED alysse and bret, he wouldn't leave them alone. It was nice for me, I got a little break.) We went up to the university and showed her around and she did an audition for a scholarship. We drove around looking for housing and of course ate some AGGIE ICE CREAM!! My brother took us out to eat at CAFE SABOR and we enjoyed catching up on life. We drove down to my older sister house in Clearfield and had a get together with four of the five kids. Mom and Dad are in AZ for the winter so they missed out on it, but it was fun for us kids. We haven't been all together as a whole family for over 5 years. Due to usually having my parents in town, we don't usually get house guests..they stay at their place. This time we did, and we had a BALL. I would do it more often if I could..I miss them already. **My brother had all girls, so he says my boys are the boys he never had. They have such a great relationship. He now wants us to come up to his place all of the time, so he can see his boys..WHAT ABOUT ME?? I am his sister. LOL
