The last weekend in June we had a great opportunity to drive up to the
WHEELER family reunion (
Aaron's mom's side) in
Weiser Idaho! Always good ol memories made there! This is a rare occasion for this side of the family for a reunion, and it was time! (6 yrs ago was the last reunion!) We decided since it is quite the drive to go up there, we would make a few stops on our way and back. Why not make it a small little family vaca/adventure?!
Our first stop and title of this post
"Old Idaho Penitentiary"!! This was super neat and quite interesting to tour through...even for the young boys! This prison has been empty for 40 years due to a riot that burned the majority of it in the 70's. Before that it had been open since the late 1800's. It showed us how nice the inmates have it these days,
for sure!

BIG riot!

6 woman were in this ward, and hundreds of men where in the other buildings/wards!
This was a very interesting stop and we really quite enjoyed it. Makes you never want to go to prison though! ;)
