This post is dedicated to our dear dog, ZIP AKA: Zippity do dog, ZIPPER, Houndinee, and Zipper Snipper! No he did not die, I just wanted to do a post on him. (I got him around this time...9 years ago.) He is such a good dog and we love him ohh so much. I feel bad for the pup these days he has been replaced by our children. As many of you know, zip was a gift to me from Aaron when we were dating. I always had wanted a puppy, and my parents didn't want the mess and craziness of an animal. After Aaron gave him to me, we got married like 10+ months later. We couldn't ever get an apartment due to him...so we rented some houses so we could have him. We didn't have kids the first 6 years of our marriage and so Zip was our baby. He was such a spoiled pup. We took him everywhere and he had lots of grass to run around on.(we had some large yards) We took him hiking, camping and all of those fun things. BUT NOW...the story is much different. We moved into our home, didn't have a yard at first...and we have been wanting a fence REALLY bad..(they aren't cheap as you know)..so he is stuck in his kennel most of the time. (I hate that!!) Aaron takes him out to run around the yard from time to time (when he actually has a second)...and drive in the back in his work truck. He gets to go swimming (which is his favorite)from time to time in the canal. He is defiantly not an indoor animal..he never has been taught. Part of me feels guilty that we have replaced him with kids, but really kids should take presidence right? ANYWAYS, out of a bit of guilt, I just wanted to do a post just for him AND wish him HAPPY BIRTHDAY! He really was the cutest darn puppy...but what puppy isn't??
TO ZIP: You have been in out lives for almost 9 years (? dog years). You always have been so sweet to us and the kids. You love to run, swim, jump...and mainly wrestle with Aaron. You love to scratch your back on the grass, or roll around on the snow. You eat snow...sometime the yellow kind. You love to jump around in the canals or gutter..or wherever there is water. You drink so much of it when you swim..that you get bloated and throw up. We laugh at you when you do this...but you still drink more. You rarely bark, and when you do..it is just because of another animal you want to go and see or is peeing on you. OR IF Someone is on your turf, or near your food...or sometimes you are protecting us from strangers.(we have had prowlers in the past.) You are starting to look old, but we love you all the same. YOU ARE SUCH A CUTE DOG. We have thoroughly enjoyed these years with you..and hope for many more. A fence is in the works, so hopefully you will get more exercise. **he loves to run along side Aaron when he rides his bike (on a leash) and/or pull Aaron around on a skate board. ZIP (is a mutt..which I think are the best kind.) So who knows what you are..BUT all we know....is that you are one HOT DOG!! LOVE YOU ZIP!!

Aw. Cute. Kids definitely are the priority, but it's still good to love the dog! I think it's cute that your hubs gave you the dog way back. That's tender!
Happy birthday Zip!!!!
We feel the same way about Dotty. She is definitely part of our family, but not as high up there as the kids. I hope you can get a fence soon so Zip can run around again.
Cutie dog!! We love our dog, too...except for his shoe eating fetish (while still on people's feet). Animals are definitely part of our family, too.
Oh.. good doggie! Happy Birthday Zip!
Hi Cuz! Great posts! I haven't been visiting blogs for a few weeks, so thanks for all the reading material! Your trip to Bear Lake looks so fun! I loved Davin's boots!! Your birthday pazookie makes me want one, and happy birthday to Zip! I also loved the story of the old man. What a kind thing he did for you! (and believe me, with 3 kids in tow and one on the way, I KNOW how horrible it is to go shopping myself with NO ONE to help!!) Love ya!! I should update my blog now.
happy b-day zip! i am amazed that you/he have survived through the baby stages. we were happy our fish died before we had our kids. because i don't think he would have survived long after they came :-)
what a sweet puppy!!!
We love you too Zip. We will never forget camping with you and being sprayed with skunk.....twice. ;)
